Teatro Carmen launches Facade Restoration Project – 2023

Work on restoring the original 1915 facade of Teatro Carmen and 1940’s Black Elks Club is beginning. The three original archways and brick facade are being exposed after decades, based on archival photographs found at the Arizona Historical Society. The Black Elks facade is being restored based on the 1940’s construction blueprints on file at the City of Tucson. For progress and additional details as the project progresses, watch this News & Events page at TeatroCarmen.org.

This project is supported by Stratford Artworks, Pima County, The Bert W. Martin Foundation, Arizona State Parks and other anonymous donors. The project contractor is MW Morrissey. The project architect is Poster Mirto MacDonald.
